Install — no setup

Download the Windows .exe and run it. There’s no installer to click through, no account to create, no permissions to grant. It opens straight to your Dashboard the first time.

Log an OT entry

Pick the project, punch in the from/to times (Overshift accepts 1800 or 6:00 PM — whichever you already type), pick Regular, Weekend or Holiday, and hit Add. Hours fill in automatically.

Export when payroll asks

Open Reports, pick a date range, click Export. You get a clean Excel file with your logged hours — and, on PRO, an estimate of what those hours are worth after night, weekend and holiday premiums.

How do I get my license key?

It’s emailed to you automatically, usually within a minute of payment. Paste it into Settings → License and click Activate.

Do I need PRO to use Overshift?

No. Logging overtime and exporting reports are free and always will be. PRO adds the payout estimator, night differential, and premium multipliers.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Your entries live in an Excel file next to the app on your own computer. Overshift has no account system and no server.

Which Windows versions are supported?

Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. The app is a single .exe and doesn’t need admin rights to run.

Chrome or Windows says the download may be dangerous.

That warning appears for any new app that hasn’t been downloaded many times yet — it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with the file. In Chrome, open the download and choose Download suspicious file (or Keep). If Windows then shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. The warnings fade as Overshift builds up a download history.
